Brad Paisley-Des Moines, IA

So my girlfriend who I met while we were both in the military, I am out now, and she is still in, stationed in Washington State. I find out that brad paisley is coming to Des Moines, so I find 4th row tickets, that set me back 300 bucks, plus I buy her plane ticket here and another 300 bucks. Well this past saturday, her flight is supposed to get here to Des Moines at 430, the concert starts at 730. Her flight leaves Seattle at 6am, she gets to Portland just a bit after 7am. Her next flight to Minneapolis leaves at 825am, well when they got on the plane and started taxing to the runway, they had to turn around and come back, mechinacial problems with the landing gear. read more ...

I've waited my whole life to go see Eric Clapton and when I finally got my chance I left the show completely broken hearted. i should have known it was going to be bad when entering the show the girl next to me was complaining about all the "middle-aged losers everywhere. Now, I'm 27 and she was about my same aged and all I could think was if not for all these middle aged losers ther would be no Eric Clapton.
Anyway, the concert was at Madison Square Garden. My seats were better than I expected and I ws soooo happy to be there. But everybody around me was rude. I tried too talk to the people around us and got didrty looks. No one got on their feet. read more ...

Ozzfest Devore, CA

Great F++king concert!! EXCEPT for the idiot younger people, (under 30), that do not know how to pace themselves when drinking or consuming whatever. We paid over $400.00 for two seats in section Orch 2, row CC, (Great seats!!), and had waisted idiots crawling over seats, trying to sit in seats they did not have tickets for and slinging their long hair into other people, (I have long hair too, so don't get in a knot!) Just remember that everyone is there to have the best time possible WITHOUT pissing off others around you by being a dink. Moderation is a good way to go if you must consume. I myself, was a little buzzed but still could control myself except when one guy kept leaning on my wife, so I had to knock him back into a seat that he was not in possession of a ticket for. read more ...

John Fogerty (Maybe Mohegan Sun Arena's Fault)

Did anyone else go to John Fogerty’s concert at Mohegan Sun Arena on December 2, 2006?

This concert was so loud that the lyrics were inaudible. Also, John Fogerty’s songs have very high pitched guitar notes in them. It was physically uncomfortable to sit through this concert. There were tons of people around me who were holding their hands over their ears. I did the same before leaving midway through the show.

I think that John Fogerty and/or his fans must all be half-way deaf. I have been to enough rock concerts to know that this was not normal.

I don’t care how good his music is; it’s not worth going deaf for. Furthermore, every aspect of the sound was completely distorted (not just the lyrics). So even if you were willing to have long-term hearing damage, there was nothing worth listening to.
mariah carey stunk

I don't know what Happened to her voice but she was not good live, not good at all. Her floor show was great, great dancers, back up singers, sets, but she was not up it. Also, the crowd was so strange. I have never seen such a walking plastic surgery show in my life. What is it about Mariah that brings out all the boob jobs in town? And why do women think everyone wants to be exposed to so much of them?
I was sorry that I spent so much money on 9th row center floor seats for me and my 12 year old daughters (who are singers) only to have them beg to leave after having beer spilled on them by the bouncing woman on their left, who paid no attention that a shorter person was standing next to her while she screamed and jumped up and down, literally in front of my kid. read more ...

Jars of Clay Stunk

I thought going to a Jars of Clay concert would be a fun little outing. Instead, the band stunk, I got in a fight with my boyfriend and I ended up walking a mile home in the rain from the Jack-In-The-Box near my house. Not what I'd call a great night. Next time I get tickets, I'm going to pick a better band.

Cobain had smashed his guitar the show before so second guitarist Jason Everman played lead. Everman was dismissed from the band shortly afterwards.

Kenny Chesney in Indy

I can't believe I spent $142 to sit on a lawn and watch Kenny Chesney! Carrie Underwood was good, Dirks Bentley was good then the show goes off for an hour and then Kenny Chesney comes on and plays 5 of his greatest hits and brings out Uncle Cracker, which ruined it all. Talk about your wagon wheels coming off! They performed Kid Rock, Steve Miller, John Mellencamp....you get my drift? Everything except what we wanted to hear...HELLO? Kenny Chesney!!! How could he ruin a good show like that? We got up and left. If I wanted to hear someone else's songs, I would have gone somewhere else and Continue reading ... read more ...

A lot of driving for nothing. NIN 1990

In 1990 or thereabouts, I drove 2 hours to go see NIN in a Providence, RI in a club called The Living Room whose stage / standing area was about of 30' X 30'. Pretty Hate Machine had only just been released, and the head 'head like hole' video had only been shown a couple of times on MTV's 120 minutes (a now defunct alternative show).

Anyway after getting there it turns out Trent & Co. had cancelled the show, only notifying the place maybe 5 mins before hand. Sucks that I drove that far for nothing, also sucks I missed out on what would have been a cool show and a great "I knew them when" story.
