Public Enemy Takes it on Tour

Believe the hype. Public Enemy is back on tour. The legendary rap group is poised for the release of their new album “Beats and Places” on Nov. 28th.

So far only a few tour dates have been announced, but the list will surely grow. PE fans run deep. With the current resurgence of all things 80s, it’s the perfect time for a come back. And let’s face it, Public Enemy has always known what time it is.

Public Enemy’s name has been synonymous with origination and trend setting. Public Enemy was the first group to center their image on the rebellious political, social and cultural commentary of front man Chuck D. The D is for dangerous. They hugely influenced the hip hop scene, overseas and in the United States.

Comic sidekick to Chuck D’s politically charged musings, Flavor Flav's stuttering style (not necessarily his fashion sense) has been imitated by Busta' Rhymes and Ol' Dirty Bastard. Flav's seen a comeback of his own, with the release of his fourth solo effort on Halloween of this year.

It’s a big month for Flav, as not only did the second season of his hit VH1 show, “Flavor of Love” get the highest ratings of any non-sports television event ever, he’s also expecting his seventh child. But not with the most recent winner of his affections, Deelishis.

After the dissolution of his relationship with first-season choice ‘Hoops,’ Flav impregnated a ‘shorty’ from Las Vegas before season 2 began. Why waste time on the mic? This news came on the cusp of his ‘cementation’ of his love for his newest flame, Deelishis, who he marked with the gift of a gold grille. What for most (boring) people is distinguished by the offer a ring, to Flav, a set of glimmering gold teeth was all it took.

Now that season 2 has aired, Flav’s new baby is due and his new flame is blazin’ full force. And Deelishis better step up that game, because his goal is to have at least ten children before the end of his procreating days, which I’m guessing will go on and on.
