Aerosmith

What's more pathetic, that this band peaked in the '70s but has been treading water ever since, that Steven Tyler basically exploited his own daughter as a sex kitten in his videos, that their "ballads" are all exactly the same song (I point, of course, to the trifecta of crap: "Cryin'" "Amazin'" and "Crazy"), or that, for reasons unknown even to the Almighty Himself, people are still eager to shell out $150 to see these geriatric "rockers"?

Sorry for the vitriol, but it makes my blood boil that great bands are wallowing in obscurity when dreck like this is still hyped.

Unless you have been through

Unless you have been through everything that Aerosmith has been through (drug and alc. addictions, cancer, etc.) you should not be putting them down. I have been a huge Aerosmith fan for awhile now and they are amazing guys. The power and exitement they bring to the stage live is like nothing you've ever seen before. They attract new fans everyday, despite their age or when they are/were on the "top". They are artists and if their music was "crap", they wouldnt be who they are today. They do what they love to do, it doesnt matter if they peaked in the '70's, their just having fun and continuing to do what they do best, rock. I'd like to see you dancing and singing around for hours after having the life they've had. I cant think of anyone I know that can still keep up that much energy and excitement as they can. You are ignorant to put them down and accuse their work as "crap".

Maybe Def Leppard, but not Aerosmith

I've never seen them live, nor am I a particular fan, but any band that can continue to draw fans at $150 a pop and sell millions of albums (treading water?) demands respect. They are obviously doing something that many bands cannot do.

As far as Tyler "exploiting" his daughter. Looks like it was a good PR move, since she has become a pretty respected hollywood actress.

I'd say that your argument would hold weight with a band like Def Leppard, but not Aerosmith. Just my humble opinion. :)
