Jay-Z Hangar Hungry

For those of you looking for a light at the end of that family-filled Thanksgiving tunnel, Jay-Z has stepped up to the plate. Except that it's a light at the beginning of the tunnel, but whatever.

The rapper has promised a 17 hour, seven-city tour on Nov. 18. Yes, that's right, Jay-Z will be playing in airport hangers in Atlanta, Philly, D.C., Chicago, L.A., Vegas and New York in less than one day.

“The Jay-Z Hangar Tour” is a prequel to the Nov. 21 release of the Def Jams Records president’s “Kingdom Come.” Not too hard to do when you have your own private jet.

Hopefully he’s not kidding, since he apparently was when he said he was retiring and not going to compete with his fellow Def Jam artists. Sike! Judging by his past performance, this time around it’s sure to be a success. Faking retirement will do that, just ask Barbra Streisand.

And Cingular customers get to watch the performance on their video-capable phones, since the company is sponsoring the mega PR-push. But the main crowd will be radio-contest winners, so keep your ears open for opportunities. And two lucky winners actually get to accompany Jay in his jet, so get ready to pour that Kristal,
