I heard Nouvelle Vague initially at Urban Outfitters where their cover of Joy Division's Love will Tear Us apart was playing. They did it as Astrud Gilberto would have done the song. There whole first album was covers of Post Punk classics done in a folksy way with french and brazillian musical influences. There's just something about listening to a band turning Clash and PIL classics into elevator beat numbers that is hard to resist. There is a second album about to be released in the US (August 22nd) covering Bauhaus, The Cramps, and Billy Idol. I can't wait.
