I saw Le Reve at the Wynn in Las Vegas. It was my first Cirque du Soleil type show and I totally loved it.
The whole thing takes place in this round water stage where the actors disappear into the water or up into the ceiling 5 floors up. I was sitting in the first row and lots of times you get splashed with water and the actors get really close to you (like a foot away). They give you towels so the water ends up being a fun thing rather than an annoyance.
The whole performance, true to its name, plays out as a series of episodes you might expect to see in a dream. Layer upon layer of semantic, symbolic meaning is added through a series of acrobatic performances that combine humor, grace, and an unrestrained spiritualism in truly intriquing ways. There are a few moments I certainly won't forget where the images created by the performance really struck a deep Jungian chord.
Subsequently I saw O at the Bellagio, and I would definitely recommend Le Reve over that. The round stage is better for this type of show (everyone has a good seat), and Le Reve has much better costumes and imagery.
I would go again in a heartbeat.
