Michael Jackson to Come Out of Hiding

Michael Jackson, the self-proclaimed King of Pop (even though young Justin Timberlake may be giving him a run for his money) will be performing at the World Music Awards next week.

Now, now, let’s be fair. He was acquitted of those nasty little child molestation charges last year, and this is his first performance since then. So in his defense, he has given us a break.

But no more. On November 15th, Jackson will recreate the graveyard sequence from his video for Thriller, harkening back to the days when it actually took makeup and special effects to make him look like a monster.

The Times They Are A-Failin'

Bob Dylan can lend his music to almost anyone and ensure an instant hit. It’s worked for decades for artists across the board. But when he tried to take his music to Broadway, well, it just flopped.

The Times They Are A-Changin' opened October 26th, but it’s already slated to close November 19th. Short run you say? Check out this preview on The View and you’ll wonder how it ever opened in the first place: http://www.ifilm.com/video/2782467.

The general idea is that Dylan’s lyrics somehow tie into the “story” (or lack thereof) of a low-rent traveling circus and the lead character ‘Coyote’ who dreams of a better life. He tries to decide to flee the company business or to remain. A better song to use may have been The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” And the word from audience members, he should go.

Still the Same Stewart

"Bar none, he's the best singer I've heard in rock n roll. He's also the greatest white soul singer." —Elton John on Rod Stewart.

In order to continue to live up to that title, Rod Stewart announced a 56-city tour of the US and Canada for next year to promote his newest album, “Still the Same … Great Rock Classics of Our Time.”

His fourth number one album, “Still the Same” debuted there after it’s release Oct. 10. The disc marks Stewart’s return to rock, after a string of covers: four “Great American Songbook” compilations. The third installment, “Stardust” even won a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2005.

K-Fed Offers Free Concert...But Not for Charity

So when was the last time you saw Ticketmaster adjust their ticket pricing...to a lower price? Um, NEVER?

Kevin Federline has made history yet again, aside from the uproarious reaction of the country to his split from Britney Spears.

Because of an only 20 percent turn out to a recent New York show, Chicago's House of Blues is offering tickets to tonight's crap-rap performance for FREE!

That's right folks, tickets can be had for merely a surcharge, to an act that will most likely fizzle out before too long.

Spears to K-Fed: It's OVER!

Continuing her efforts to support husband K-Fed's album release, Britney Spears has filed for divorce from the rapper.

Oh, wait, she married him to help his career. Uh, yeah. He’s screwed.

Not too many details out about what happened as of yet, but strangely, I think we can all guess for ourselves. Maybe she heard about all the tickets they cancelled for his shows around the country. Could be that when he embarrassed himself in the wrestling ring last week it was just the last straw. Or maybe his complete public mockery finally got to her.

Christina's Tour to be Anything but Basic

Attention!! Tour spoilers! Plot revealing information follows!!

Details about Christina Aguilera’s upcoming Back to Basics tour have been released by TMZ…And they’re pretty naughty.

From stripper poles to whips, you knew she’d be out there to prove she’s “Still Dirrty,” and no matter what you’re thinking, she’s “Still got it.”

The report details that 22 songs will be performed. Similar to the way the album itself is divided, three sections will highlight the 1920s, Juke Joint sounds and Circus antics. Fifteen costume changes are promised, but from what it sounds like, there won’t be much time needed between changes, since there will be so little fabric.

Seeing the NFL Live: I Finally "Get" Football

Something happened to me the other night, I turned a new corner into unfamiliar territory. Something has shifted, as if the world has tilted on its axis and in so doing dropped me into a realm where I was able to see things in a new way: I finally “get” football.

Not that I understand the rules, not that I even know which team is doing what, or why they’re running. What I “get” is what the big deal is, why so many millions of fans spend their time in front of these games on television. Unless they just liked football to start with, my guess is they’ve been to a live game.

Not just any live game, an NFL game. And just going to the game is not enough. Sunday night’s New England Patriots against the Indianapolis Colts was my first NFL game, and second football game total. My first piece of advice to anyone trying to get a true feel for what all the hooplah is about, is to see it in person, and get there early.

Eminem and Mariah Carey

The secret is out: Eminem and Mariah dated.

According to him, they were together for six or seven months. According to her, it wasn't dating because she was only "with him a total of four times". "With him"? Four times? If that's not dating, it's just kind of slutty. Given the choice, wouldn't she rather call it dating?

I believe Eminem's claim that there was really something there. Not because he's the most trustworthy character, but because it's such delicious gossip that I just want it to be true. Also because Mariah is a diva; divas lie all the time; therefore, Mariah is a liar.

MTV Europe Music Awards Anger Kanye, Snub Madonna

Last night’s MTV’s Europe Music Awards left Justin Timberlake and Gnarls Barkley with both hands full. The two took the top awards of the evening, which Timberlake hosted.

Justin was awarded Best Male and Best Pop Act for his recent release, “Sexy Black/LoveSounds.” Gnarls was awarded the prestigious Future Sound award, which was determined through a vote cast by his peers. He also won Best Song for “Crazy” which has done crazy-good on the charts, as it has with radio play and downloads.

Christina Aguilera was deemed Best Female Act, taking the award from Beyonce and Shakira. Madonna was also nominated for the honor, along with two other nods she lost. Though she was extremely successful last year, this year, eh…goose egg. Sorry Madge, but you already have your hands full at home.

"High School Musical" Is the Ticket to Ride

“High School Musical” means many things these days. Ask your favorite tween what the term meant months ago and you would have learned about Disney’s made-for-TV musical that produced a triple-platinum selling album with some seriously catchy pop tunes.

Now this pop culture phenomenon has spawned a touring concert, which goes on sale Saturday, Nov. 4. With a 40-city tour, this concert will ride the coat tails of Disney’s successful prototype The Cheetah Girls. Their 60-city sold-out tour has taken the country by storm, after two hit specials on The Disney Channel. In line with the Cheetah Girls’ path, a second “High School Musical” movie is already in the works.
